Nurses impact millions of lives daily. Whether you know one
personally, or have had a friend or family member cared for by a nurse, chances
are everyone has at least one reason to be thankful for a nurse. To celebrate
and honor exceptional nurses in the world of health care, Ansell, a global
leader in protection solutions, announced the establishment of its H.E.R.O.
[Heal, Educate, Reach, Overcome] Nurse Service Award. According to Ansell, “the
award recognizes nurses who have made lasting impressions on their peers, their
patients, their profession and their community.” This could be a nurse who went
out of their way to give you exceptional care while you were recovering at a
hospital, or one who offered a tender comfort for a loved one and made all the
difference. We would all love to be able to thank all nurses for the largest
hurdles and tiniest contributions that helped their patients, and he’s your
chance to honor a select few that left an exceptionally lasting impression with
not only those they care for, but everyone around them.
The Nurse H.E.R.O contest is open for nominations beginning
now until May 26, 2013. Anthony Lopez, president of Ansell’s Medical Solutions
GBU explains, "The H.E.R.O. Nurse Service Award is our way to show
appreciation for our nation's nurses and acknowledge their tireless
contribution as care givers, patient advocates, researchers and teachers."
Everyone is invited to nominate their nurse hero online at
ansellhealthcare.com/facebook. Voting will then begin May 27, 2013 and
continues through June 30, 2013.
The top 10 nominees with the most votes will receive the
H.E.R.O. Nurse Service Award and have their story profiled online. Each winner
will also receive a nursing textbook of their choice.
